I’ve been enjoying this weeks card making before the last Fakenham Makers Market before the summer break. All made with original art, as you know, I do like hands on messy stuff!
I decided as the weather is changing and it’s soon going to be cold that I would brighten my studio up so that it is more inviting during the bad weather. I haven’t really thought about it until now and I want to cheer it up.
I sealed up where the windows were leaking last winter and now, as you can see they need a coat of paint. Looking better already. Now they need a nice top coat so I’m off to choose a colour! 🙂
I started a new project recently as I’ve been having a constant battle in how to display some of my work at my makers markets. I have been making stands and generally trying to improve the presentation of my stall. Ultimately to try and improve sales!
I’ve had some apple trays for a while, knowing they would come in useful sometime and now they have! I saw something when I was out the other day and just motivated me to see what I could do.
I estimated what other bits of wood I might need which only cost about £10 and I got on with it. Measuring, sawing and painting:-) Yes I’m impressed too!I’ll take a photo of my stall on Saturday to show the stands all finished 🙂
After buying some beautiful new lino cutting tools…….I thought it best to get using them. Encouraged by the Facebook Group ‘Linocut friends‘ I got started 🙂 I’m beginning my first lino print using more than one colour! I’m going to cut away slowly and print each time so that I can monitor how much I want to cut away. We shall see! 🙂
Here’s an update on the progress I’m making with my Stones exhibition. I’m thoroughly enjoying getting ready for it as I gave myself lots of time. This is where I’ve got to so far 🙂There maybe some familiar pieces but there will be some surprises too! Also everyone who comes will get a free program 🙂
I’m very excited at the moment because I have decided to have a pop up exhibition in my gallery. I have just over two weeks to get everything ready 🙂 I have taken alot of time tidying and putting away things that just get left around and that in its self is very satisfying! I’m going to chart my progress and this is where I’ve got so far. This table is going to hold one of my exhibits so it’s got to have a coat of paint. Trust me, it’s going to look just rightHere is a little invite for anyone who will be in the vicinity on 30th July.
I would be delighted if you could come! 🙂
