Paintings for Exhibition

Wow, I didn’t realize how long it is since I last wrote a post! I’ve been getting ready for my exhibition which I have happening during September.Β I would be delighted if you could come along. If you are in the area and would like to come to the private view you are most welcome! πŸ™‚

Christmas Card

I spent yesterday designing this years Christmas card. Yes I know it’s early, but if I don’t do it now I’d get to the beginning of December and would be struggling for inspiration even perhaps motivation in the business of the time of year!

I am really pleased with it and look forward to having it on sale πŸ™‚

As Yet Untitled

I have been in the process of doing this painting for a while and revisited it yesterday.
I had bought some newΒ  paint and added a very dark hookers green and a cyan to the centre circular shape. One of the things I’ve been learning is that sometimes taking away is as valuable as adding. The centre of the painting was drawing me to it and so this is what I did! And wow, it all sprung to life and I love all the colours shining though the top layer of paint! So here is ‘As Yet Untitled’ (I thought of a name as I was painting but it has faded away just at the moment!) πŸ™‚

Greetings Cards

I’ve been enjoying this weeks card making before the last Fakenham Makers Market before the summer break. All made with original art, as you know, I do like hands on messy stuff!Β

Sixty Four Squares – The beginning

For this piece I have planned the colour layout in my art journal. To the side I am putting the colours I am actually using for the painting.

As you can see, painting does not need to cost a lot. Here I’m using an old printed canvas I bought from a charity shop! I don’t know why I started with green, it just took my fancy, if you want to paint, just enjoy it, there are no rules!

Next, blue πŸ™‚

Next, red. If you look carefully you can see I where I put it in the wrong place. with a canvas or board, just wipe it off while it’s still wet. If it’s dried, paint over it. Don’t discard the painting because of a mistake, the layering of paint adds something to the finished piece! πŸ™‚
