Artists Book

Wow what a big upheaval, 6 weeks of changing my studio, I’ve allowed myself in to work at last! I wanted things to be finished before I moved back in. Saying that, there is still a few things I’d like to give attention but they are not obstructive.

I uncovered some old textile work in the big sort out and thought I might be able to use it for a call to artists I’m considering.

Adding some more colour to it on my table and considering adding organic Items.
The decision to turn it into an artists book was suggested to me and I liked that idea. ๐Ÿ™‚
Keep watching to see how it takes shape!

Intuitive Painting Workshop

As my regular followers know, I’ve been doing some intuitive panting workshops for relaxation and mindfulness. These are to give an opportunity to escape the rat race of life and focus on the pleasures of intuitive painting. Here are some photos of the latest workshop to show what’s been done.ย  My next workshop is on Saturday 10th November 10 am – 12 noon.

Recycled Note Book Covers

I am so pleased with my new product, recycled notebook or sketch book covers. These have been re-cycled from the very fashionable and popular PVC advertising signs. Obviously these awful things are not biodegradable and so will sit in landfill for ever so I have come up with a practical use for them instead of throwing them away.

I hand paint the the lengths of PVC and then sew them into shape. Then this turns into what I think are very desirable book covers with pencil loops onย the front ๐Ÿ™‚ย Keep a look out as these will be soon available on my Etsy shop

Printed Textile

I’ve just been inspired to work into and improve one of my old print blocks. I’ve cut into the basic shape to make it look more exciting. This image shows me testing the block on paper. I’ve made some extra test blocks in the shape of leaves to use with it.I’ve hadย this vintage anti-macassar for a while, already dyed with onion skins for me to print on. I’ve been waiting for just the right block to print on it with and decided this was it.Don’t you think it looks great on my Sofa! ๐Ÿ™‚
