This is my second finished gesso relief, you may remember it from a recent blog although it looked a little different then. I’m looking to experiment a lot more with this technique, but I’m very pleased with how this piece has turned out, now just to varnish it 🙂
We had friends round the other day and I was bought a lovely bunch of spring flowers which included some beautiful hyacinths. I was inspired to use one for a relief.
When pressing this into the clay I wasn’t sure how it was going to come out.But I went for it anyway, the challenge is the driving force for me.Peeling back the clay is very satisfying. This is how it turned out.It still needs a bit of cleaning up but I’m very pleased! 🙂
I love drawing! Here’s my frog in my favourite colour way. I am pleased with this so it shall stay. He’s now available as a A4 digital print with a mount ready to frameand a recycled greetings card, direct from my studio or from my Etsy shopThe original drawing is also available 🙂
I spent some time last week at a friends house doing art. Creating beautiful things together on the same paper. It was so enjoyable 🙂
I’ve been having a bit of a melt down with my work load recently which has been hindering the development of new ideas for my art. So I’m intentionally trying to slow down and not fill my days with so much stuff. Spending time doing odd jobs in the garden and trying to clear my head is the order of the day I think!
Here are some doodles I was doing in my journal last night trying to take the pressure off my mind.Does anyone have any suggestions how to get my mojo back ’cause I have artists block?! 🙂
After a weeks staycation, I’m back with enthusiasm! Wanting to take my drawings as far as possible, I’ve started thinking big.
I did some research on the net into graffiti and could see my drawings working on a large scale.I’ve started my first large scale drawing using a recycled photography back drop and I’m liking it! 🙂
My art pieces are always a slow process because of all the smaller projects I have, but I’ll keep you posted!
I’m having an Open Studio in a months time for people who like to plan their Christmas early, so some of my thoughts are directed to this. I’ve bought a super sized canvas for a planned centre piece for the exhibition. I’m looking forward to doing that, because I’ve been thinking a lot about the selling side of my work and I need a rest from it. Although I have produced these pieces of wall art to colour in, which I’m really pleased with. They had their first exposure yesterday and I sold one. Hurrah!I hope you like them 🙂
